Welcome to
Gaia Village
Our mission is to educate and empower people to live in harmony with nature
Guided by our holistic educational model, we offer dynamic learning opportunities which are inspired by a deep love for the natural world. Our focus is in creating a space for curiosity, exploration, adventure, and reflection. Here, we’ll learn together, from one another, in a spirit of collaboration and co-creation.
Our vision is to create an Ecoversity which embodies and teaches the art and science of regeneration and connection.
Our campus will be situated in the beautiful Northern Rivers of New South Wales, Australia. Complete with a diverse range of educational spaces, a wildlife rehabilitation centre, research facilities, native botanic gardens and food forests, nature playgrounds, and spaces to learn, collaborate, celebrate, share food and music, pursue the arts, and grow together in community.
Gaia Village is a school and a community which blends dynamic education with impactful conservation work, inspiring and supporting people to make meaningful positive change for life on our planet.
A holistic model
Gaia Village is built on 7 foundational pillars
Health
Community
Regenerative living
Nature conservation
Education
Science and research
Deep ecology
These core pillars are inherently interconnected and interdependent, strengthening and supporting one another. This is why we’re building a Village - a space and a community to mirror the vastness of our vision. Gaia is an ecosystem, and a web of life.
By reconnecting people to nature through deep ecology practices, and to each other with community development, we lay the foundation for learning the arts and sciences of regeneration together. Permaculture, natural building, and bush craft teaches us to creatively and intuitively use our natural resources to care for ourselves and our families, in harmony with the land. Our neighbours, the animals, live here too. We care for them in our wildlife sanctuary, and nourish them with the food and medicine we grow, while reforesting the land for them. Our science and research centre encourages bright minds to pioneer solutions for conservation, supporting healthy ecosystems for ourselves and wildlife to live within. Education programs and volunteer residencies create skilled land and animal carers, expanding our impact far beyond the Village. Our plant medicine gardens and apothecary are tended to by the healers who care for our people and animals, as do our cooks, who blend a generous helping of love into every garden-grown meal.
